Dan Rugg : Yacht Broker

Dan grew up sailing on Long Island Sound. A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Dan earned All-American recognition from the Intercollegiate Sailing Association in 1969 and 1970. Served on active duty for nine years as a Surface Warfare Officer and retired from the Naval Reserve as a Captain. For the past 20 years, Dan has been the Sailing Master at the Naval Academy focusing on the training of adults and Midshipmen participating in the Offshore Cruising program. His extensive offshore experience includes ten Newport – Bermuda Races, the 1969 Trans Atlantic Race, numerous SORC's, multiple Ft Lauderdale to Key West races and Key West Raceweeks and deliveries. Dan completed International Yachtmaster Training in 2005. Additionally, he is a US Sailing Basic Keelboat and Cruising Instructor Trainer and Coastal Passage Making Instructor. He holds a USCG 100 ton Master license with sailing endorsement.
