Dear Ezra,
They say that the best times in a boater’s life is when he buys a new boat and when he sells his old boat. As you know, we recently went through both the buying and selling experiences. Without a doubt, using your company as our broker allowed us to have that kind of experience.
The first time we met on our 46 foot yacht, you provided us a review of what boats similar to our had recently sold for and what was presently on the market. Based on this discussion and on our desire to sell prior to having to winterize our boat, we were able to set about a realistic price which was agreeable to my wife and myself. In addition, you inspected the boat and pointed out a number of areas where, with a little work we could substantially improve the boat’s appearance (without a large expenditure of funds) was instrumental in allowing us to sell and close the sale in approximately six weeks.
When we were ready to purchase a new (used) boat, you again provided us the information we needed to determine the availability of boats that met our criteria and that were in our price range. We selected the first boat that you showed us and with your help we were able to negotiate an acceptable price.
Since Sondra and I were out of state, we were concerned that it would be difficult to go through the procedures necessary to survey, purchase and move the boat to our club. We shouldn’t have worried. You came through with flying colours by providing us transportation and following up on corrections resulting from the survey.
After the sale was completed, rather than hiring a captain to move the boat to our club you decided to move it yourself thus saving us over $400 in additional costs.
In the past, we have bought and sold many boats using brokers but none of them came anywhere close to providing the “extra services” and advice that you gave us.
Ezra, Sondra and I thank you for making the sale and purchase of our old and new boat the rewarding and stress-free experience that it was. We certainly would recommend you to any of our boating friends who might be interested in buying or selling a boat. Also, we would happily serve as a reference to any potential customers who are thinking of using your company.
